Photos of May Day Rallies in Amherst and Northampton

After some technical difficulties (the official camera of the day broke and erased all photos), we've found another source. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend. The rallies were diverse, interactive and festive. And now we have the pictures to prove it!

The Amherst noontime rally featured guest speakers including Rick Brown (Pioneer Valley Central Labor Council AFL-CIO; Western Mass. Jobs with Justice Committee Member; Vice-President/Organizer of UFCW Local 1459), Maya Winfrey (Western Mass. AFSC), Ben Grosscup (Bill of Rights Defense Committee), Arina Weissman (Western Mass. Coalition for Peace & Justice), and community members who took the mike for Speak Outs.

We were also treated to AMAZING music from Jose Ayerve and (thanks to Artists for Justice) Art Steele, Julissa and Los Callejeros.

The Northampton evening rally was also very successful!

Local college students,

activists and community members bravely took the microphone for Speak Outs on their personal immigrant experience and how the immigrant movement is related to other movements.

Thank you everyone who came up in support of Immigrant Rights! To see more photographs, click here.
